QUESTION 3:
What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
QUESTION 4 AND 5:
QUESTION 6:
What have you learnt about technologies from the process pf constructing this product?
BLOGGER:
Blogger was the main type of technology I used to track and gather as much information needed to make sure that I was confident to go out and record a media product. The blogger made sure that all of the research was done and put onto the blog making sure enough research about media products and how their made. This made sure that we acknowledge and realise as much important information for the group so we know what we’re doing when recording the shots for the final piece. Using www.blogger.co.uk every lesson for media makes me aware in how to get around the website and how to publish and update my work and personal research that I’ve done to aid my project for the thriller opening. Using blogger taught me how to structure and visually set out my work so I can put out as much information I can to explain why I chose this information and how it would benefit me.
POWERPOINT AND MICROSOFT WORD:
The programmes PowerPoint and Microsoft Word were the mainly interoperated and introduced at the end of the project when doing our evaluation. This enables me to use different ways on how to produce my work making it more appealing and interesting to look and read through. Using these programmes makes my writing skills develop more and expand and explain how my experience was when starting the project with no information and ending it with a lot of key information, developed skills and acknowledged new skills through my journey.
GOOGLE CHROME:
Using Google chrome to capture new information to make sure my group and I has the most valid information about making an opening so our final media product is to the best of our ability. Using Google chrome I acknowledged how to make our thriller open a specific genre which we chose action. I also acknowledged that we shouldn’t give so much away because then the audience wouldn’t be interested in watching the actual film.
ADOBE PREMIER CS5:
This programme was what made the shots we took into a continuous footage. At first I didn’t even know anything about this programme but using it every other day made me realise how much Adobe Premier CS5 can do. I acknowledged that you can input titles and music making the footage have more of a opening feel and can also put special effects. Anything can’t put in when recording the footage you can on this programme. Continuously using this programme ensured me that the more you are aware of what you can do on channel the more the opening will have more of an effect on the targeted audience. This programme made Retribution look more professional by the way all of the shots are laid out on the timeline and how everything such as the audio and the credit sequence is structured and how it comes on onto the screen for the audience to watch.
YOUTUBE:
Putting the finished media product on YouTube enables my group and I to upload it on our blogs for our final openings on the home page. YouTube also helps us improve our skills by getting feedback from the audience and taking it on board so that we know where we went wrong and what we could improve when or if making another opening.
CAMERA, TRIPOD AND EDITING PC:
This equipment helped to make the thriller opening. The camera got all the shots and the tripod made the shots as still as possible. The editing PC let my group and I access Adobe Premier CS5 to actually edit the shots to make the opening continuous and to input the credit sequence and audio soundtrack to make Retribution look more professional and realistic for the targeted audience.
QUESTION 7:
Looking back at the preliminary task, what do you feel you have learntin the progression from it to the full product?
MATCH-ON-ACTION:
The match-on-action that we tried recording was a starter to get us into the feel and get used to recording the shots accurately and editing the shots to make it continuous little footage. The shot’s that has to match up has to be continuous and unbroken to have more professional. The door in the shots had to be exactly the same amount that is opened to make it look ongoing.
CREDIT SEQUENCE:
When doing research and watching real media products it enabled us as a group to acknowledge that the credit sequence and the productions name is a vital and important thing for an opening. We took this into consideration which we did so when editing our footage. This was the last things we input into the footage to make it have a more of a professional feel for the target audience. We considered the audience more when shooting the shots because that’s when the opening relates and engages more with the audience which is a good thing to do. I’ve learnt that credit sequence is a vital piece of information. The credit sequence alone can change how it plays and looks on the screen making it more skilled and more thought out.
The match on action looks continuous and shows the audience where the actor is going. This may show that location may change. This makes more of a story whilst the target audience when watching it, it also may show the audience what the character is wearing showing his social class and the way he presents himself to be towards the audience. This is a huge difference from preliminary task because the scenery was the same and looked so simple which will not engage with the audience. The opening shows that we planned our shots before actually going to record making it look more on point and continuous whilst watching the opening from start to finish.
DISSOLVE:
The dissolve shows that my group and I took our time to edit and make look more professional and to imply to the audience that the location is changing which is an advantage for the audience because they would know what’s going on during the opening. This shows that me as an individual can use the Adobe Premier Pro CS5 precisely and for the right purposes. Looking back at the preliminary task, it shows that we didn’t take that long to put the shots into one however, this shows that we thought about how we will present the footage to the audience making it look almost like a professional thriller opening.
MATCH-ON-ACTION (ACTION SCENE):
The action scene was a tricky shot’s to edit because they had to look more realistic and not fake. Using the fast-pace editing makes the opening look more reasonable and using it for the right purpose. The match-on-action shows the audience what thriller sub genre we are trying to create which was an action thriller. Using an outside environment shows the audience that my group and I considered and thought about the locations. This shows that we learnt to get out of an indoor environment to create more of a story for the audience whilst they watch the opening which flows freely and continuously because of the precise editing that was used for a good purpose creating the shots to combine as a footage making it a good opening.

QUESTION 7:
Looking back at the preliminary task, what do you feel you have learntin the progression from it to the full product?
PRELMINARY TASK:
The match-on-action that we tried recording was a starter to get us into the feel and get used to recording the shots accurately and editing the shots to make it continuous little footage. The shot’s that has to match up has to be continuous and unbroken to have more professional. The door in the shots had to be exactly the same amount that is opened to make it look ongoing.

SHOT-REVERSE-SHOT:
The shot-reverse-shot enables to show the audience the continuous conversation so that the shots can be combined to make the footage look more inviting for the audience and looks like it flows freely without no hesitations. This was the first time we all recorded so it may reflect how simple and straight forward the footage is. The footage also reflects how the characters are acting and how the performance the actors are putting in, in their characters. The shots show that they may be losing themselves and show the lack of interest within the actors. This may be because it was our first time recording and the actors may not be ready to perform to the camera for the audience.
EYELINE MATCH:
The eye line match shows that we considered the editing when shooting the shots and trying to get all the needed shots when recording for the preliminary task. The eye line match enables to show a close up of the characters however, may trigger enigma codes whilst they are watching the little clip which is a good way to connect and engage with the audience. This is a good first trail run for editing because the footage was continuous and the shots all flew accordingly.
FINAL MEDIA PRODUCT:
SHOT-REVERSE-SHOT:
The shot reverse shot is very inviting for the audience, this shows that we tried using the location to fit in, in our story so it makes the actors perform their characters more and look more realistic for the audience. This has taught me from the preliminary task that the location can change the mood and feel for the audience and can create a certain mood for the audience which is an advantage for the producers.
MATCH-ON-ACTION:The match on action looks continuous and shows the audience where the actor is going. This may show that location may change. This makes more of a story whilst the target audience when watching it, it also may show the audience what the character is wearing showing his social class and the way he presents himself to be towards the audience.
